Cleanses and Diets

cleanses and diets, cleanses, diets

Cleanses and diets go hand-in-hand, and that's because a cleanse is a diet... but a diet isn't always a cleanse. Confused? Read on to find out why.

By definition, cleanses and diets are the same thing when you compare a cleanse to a diet. That's because a cleanse falls under the definition of a diet, as defined by Merriam-Webster's dictionary:

Diet: A regimen of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one's weight.

However, a cleanse is a diet that is specifically intended not only to help you lose weight, but also to assist the body in eliminating toxins and waste. For example, I'm sure you'd agree that the Atkins plan is certainly a weight loss diet, but it certainly is not a cleanse when you're eating tons of pork and other red meats!
