About Michael
Me, before and after I changed my approach to food, cleansing, health and nutrition.
I have been interested in natural health and wellness since my teen years, but didn’t become serious about practicing what I had learned until I faced some serious health issues in my mid-thirties. As a life-long athlete and professional fitness instructor with a degree in allied health, I thought I knew how to take care of my body.
I was wrong. In fact, much of what I did to my body in order to sustain the training I did actually contributed to the health issues I had developed. I was eating poorly (although I thought I had a good diet), taking over-the-counter drugs and unhealthy supplements to help me deal with injuries and over-training, and pushing my body way too hard.
Eventually, it all fell in on me. After the situation hit a crisis, I knew I had to take drastic measures in order for things to change. I decided to put my education and training in the health sciences to work and research natural and alternative health options to find out how to put my body back together.
Over the course of six years I tried and tested many different methods and theories of achieving natural health and wellness. And, time and again what I found was that the methods that proved most beneficial to me were those having to do with nutrition and detoxification.
Thanks to the work of people like Joel Fuhrman M.D. and others, I was introduced to a new way of thinking about eating for optimal health and to cleanse and detoxify the body so it can heal. After adopting this new paradigm, I’ve since experienced a much greater level of health and improved quality of life.
